This Japanese inspired dry river bed with black lava sand landscape was designed to mimic a riverbed and banks. Plants installed along the fence now create a private sanctuary (Updated photos not available). Our rock walls always integrate large flat surfaces for sitting and walking on or for placing items such as picnic items on.
Plants were chosen with intentional focus on edible and fruit bearing varieties that met the functional and aesthetic needs of the design, carefully considering privacy screening and maintenance needs.
Cardboard and paper ream mulch organic weed control method used here as an initial phase in eradicating Bermuda grass. First grass was removed then landscape graded into desired contours. Next Cardboard was applied, then paper.
Next composted mulch was applied over compostable weed barrier.
After mulch application even distribution reveals the underlying contours and features such as this Swale implemented to slow water runoff and retain water in this dry site.
This property owner contacted us to install a border around an existing flagstone walkway.
We used locally quarried stones and a carefully crafted layout to create a natural and functional curb and ground cover boundary, locking pavers in place for long term integrity.
With the right materials and installation techniques, features such as our preferred fence pictured here, can last for 5 to 10 decades. This steel fence is by far the most efficient design when installing into stone terrains as are common in our local region. Post holes are drilled into stone landcape becoming a permanent resource.
This high tension fence is virtually invisible to the eye at distance and is as tough as a fence can come.
